Spring Arising

sap awakens

3/22/20261 min read

I feel ripe like fruit

Sap rising like the tides

The roses in the backyard are blooming

This time of year

Everything reaches for the sun

I am reaching too

Climbing towards the light

Like a vine

Creeping slowly upward

When everything looks like gravity

But feels like spring

I give myself what I can

It’s not much

But it helps

The bright colors, the long naps

Gentleness where it can be

In between

Finding heartspace in the workplace

Kind kindred

What a difference

Praise and recognition

Small things

Feeling seen can be powerful

For the invisible

Hiding in plain sight

Waiting for the right time

To bloom

Softer ways

Working their way to the surface

Cracks begin to show

First one chip

Then a small sinkhole

Widening as it deepens

Until it becomes the sky

Revealing mossy forests

Growing quietly

Hidden

Tiny

Glowing golden in the light

A silent dampening

Sound is absorbed and held

Becoming vibration

Oscillating more slowly

Breathing out

The belly releases

And the sky brightens

As the stars rise
