Brings you peace

There is a pool of sorrow so deep it contains the tears of all of humankind

For all of time

And still has room for more.

You can swim in its depths forever

And never reach the bottom

For it is endless

And never gives up its dead.

There is no surface for you to push off of

As you try to reach the top and catch your breath

And often the reflection turns you

Upside down

And you go deeper still

In search of the air that is not down there

But up above where you came from.

It does no disservice to walk away for it will always be there

And when you return

You will see it with new eyes and appreciate it more

For what it is

When you have something else to compare it to.

It is both yours

And not yours.

You respect it most by leaving it be.

Though its waters call you

You must run free.

Honor its depth with your flight

Bring it joy

It needs no more of what it has plenty

Although it will take what you give

And hold it without question

There is no need for you to create

What it already has

To show you understand.

And find what else calls.

The voices only you hear.
